This truly is Utopia! One of the best things to do here is to just sit by this beautiful river and relax. You may want to have a fishing pole or a good book, because you won't want to leave. This is the Sabinal River. Flowing by ancient Bald Cypress trees (some have been dated at thousands of years old), the spring-fed river is rock-bottomed, crystal-clear and pure as a river can be. Many families have it as their only source of drinking water.
There are Guadalupe Bass, Perch, Channel Cat and other varieties of fish to be caught. Being raised in this wonderful water, they are good eatin', or you can just turn them back to go on enjoying Utopia.
After you are thoroughly relaxed, you may be ready for a good meal at one of the local restaurants. Then you could go by the Museum or go by the extensive library to pick out a new book to read or log on to the internet. You could also do your banking and shopping on Utopia's main street. If it's time for church, there are many to choose from, whatever your faith.
You can go horseback riding or hiking. Birding is a favorite pastime. Swimming in the river is a refreshing treat for the whole family. There is a paint-ball course and a swimming pool. Visit the antique store, gift shop, and a beauty shop. Eat at the fine restaurant, or see some awesome guns (for collectors) and other collectibles.
If you are so inclined, you might
want to go by the Senior Activity Center. If needed, there is a fine EMS and volunteer fire department. An
excellent Medical Clinic is also at your service.
